Oh, December always brings a lot of excitement in the air and even the pandemic couldn’t ruin the mood! We know that travelling far is not an option in this situation, so we put our thinking hat on to create a fun holiday at home with the whole family. Here are what we come up with:
1. Home-Made Theater
Let’s build a blanket fort, pop the corn and roll the movies! Home-Made Theater is a night when everyone gathers, write a movie they want to watch and put it in a bowl. Whatever comes out of the bowl, the whole family have to watch it together. It’s even a better idea if you end up playing all of the movies in the bowl, cause this theater doesn’t have operating hour and you are welcome to sleep on the couch until the morning comes.
2. Mommy-Daddy Bake Off
Kids, buckle up! It’s finally time to see who’s the better baker between the parents and you can be the judges. We can imagine how fun this will be, especially witnessing Dad nervously cracks an egg and Mom overthinks about which chocolate chips go better with the cookies. Judges are allowed to laugh to their heart contents during the competition 😉
3. Bed Time Stories
It’s holiday, you are free to stay in bed all day loong. Since we’re at it, might as well gather everyone in a bed and tell each other funny or scary stories. Use this moment to catch up with the kids, plan the Christmas day or new year together, or simply snooze while hugging each other. The bed is probably cramped but it’s most definitely warm.
4. Grocery Trips
The pandemic might limit our traveling plan during holiday but we can still make a trip to grocery store refreshing! Divide the family into several teams and assign different task to do at the grocery. For example, Dad and daughter in charge of Christmas dinner, Mom and son in charge of the decoration. Whoever finishes the task first will get to choose the dessert menu for the night!
